Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy
Therapy is a journey. It can help you connect more deeply with your authentic self and gain insight into your inner world: your dreams, passions, and fears, and the life circumstances that may be keeping you stuck.
Individual therapy is a space to slow down and be curious about your own story. Together we explore how past experiences and relationships shape the way you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others today. We also build practical tools for the moments when life feels overwhelming.
My approach
No single method works for everyone, so I draw on a blend of approaches and tailor them to you.
Psychodynamic therapy. This approach looks beneath the surface at patterns, early experiences, relationships, and emotions you may not be fully aware of. I use it because lasting change often comes from understanding why we feel and react the way we do, not only from managing symptoms.
Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). Mindfulness practices help you notice thoughts, emotions, and body sensations with less judgment and reactivity. I use them to build present-moment awareness and a steadier relationship with stress.
Grounding techniques. Simple, practical tools, such as sensory exercises and breathwork, help you come back to the present when anxiety or intense emotion takes over. I teach them early because they give you something to rely on between sessions.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT explores how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. I use it to help you notice unhelpful thought patterns and try new ways of responding.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills. DBT offers concrete skills for tolerating distress, regulating emotions, and communicating effectively in relationships. I use them because they pair well with deeper exploration. Insight is powerful, and skills help you hold the feelings that come with it.
